Lesotho will host the 11th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue in Maseru from September 29-30, 2025.

The biennial event gathers policymakers and stakeholders across water, energy, agriculture, environment, tourism, finance, and related sectors.

The conference will be held under the theme: ‘Water Security, Innovation and Nexus Action: Watering and Enabling Regional Economic Development Corridors for Transformation in SADC’.  It will be opened by the Minister of Natural Resources, Mohlomi Moleko.

In a press statement issued yesterday, SADC Head of Communication and Public Relations, Barbara Lopi, said discussions will centre on the strategic role of water in regional economic development corridors, using the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems(WEFE) Nexus.

She noted that the dialogue aims to enhance cross-sectoral coordination, promote innovation, and ensure water drives regional integration, industrialisation, poverty reduction, and climate-smart growth in SADC.
